Composition Lyrics:

The Lord is my Light and my salvation. Of whom should I be afraid?

Lord you know what I need. To live in your presence.

Lord you know what I want. To live within Your heart.

Listen to me Lord, and send me Your help. Listen to my words, Lord.

They call Your Name.

Tell me what to say O Lord. Make it plain for me to see, Lord.

Tell me what to say, O Lord. The enemy is near. The enemy is here.

And it's so hard to see, And it's so hard for me to fight alone.

Tell me what to do. Tell me what to say. I'm waiting for You, Lord.

The Lord is my Light and my salvation. Of whom should I be afraid?

Performance notes:

Based on Psalm 27, this anthem will be appropriate several times

during the liturgical year.

The tenors are featured often,

and the pianist will be challenged with many sixteenth notes.

The middle section features a lovely contrast to the rhythmical beginning and end.
